I’ll just go ahead and spoil the surprise: happy editors make better content.
Here’s the thing: as web developers, we spend so much time thinking about the public-facing user experience, that oftentimes we forget to consider the content editor’s experience at all. We can build the most gorgeous front-end, with an incredible responsive layout, and the trendiest of typography, but if content editors loathe working within the editing environment, the content will inexorably suffer. Conversely, when content editing is a joy, editors feel empowered to make their content shine.
From logging in to logging out, the content editing experience can, and should, be a delight. In this presentation, I’ll discuss ways to make content editing bliss a reality. We’ll explore conceptually, pick off low hanging fruit (and maybe some fruit with a bit more altitude too), while examining practical examples… all with a slight nod to the Drupal world.
