The concept is simple &#8211; schedule a lab on campus on a regular basis, let the masses know and get ready to spend some quality time answering questions, hearing ideas and providing support.<\/p>\n<p>While this achieved the intended goal of empowering our users, a bigger and unanticipated benefit has come from Open Lab: I&#8217;ve built a community among our content providers. I've helped extend their knowledge and comfort with technology by developing both online and instructor-led training sessions addressing topics such as HTML, CSS, Evoq (DNN), social media, and web usability.\r\n\r\nIn the spirit of giving back to the community, I've served on the planning committee of the HighEdWeb conference since 2004, acting as the co-chair for the Marketing, Content, and Social Strategy Track at the annual conference.
