Outreach and Engagement Through 360° Video and Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality (VR) is finally making it’s way into the mainstream. Fortunately, VR applications are not limited to gaming and filmmaking. VR is valuable in marketing, and colleges and universities are already adopting this technology as a way to attract new students and engage existing community members.

Using a more accessible predecessor to VR called 360° video, it’s possible to create tours, videos, and other VR experiences that allow our audiences to interact with your institution in new and exciting ways.

In this session, we will discuss:

  • VR marketing examples: What’s already happening in this space?
  • Accessibility: How do you make sure everyone can interact with your VR content, even if they don’t have an Oculus Rift?
  • Audience consideration: What market segments are ideal to engage in this way?
  • How: We’ll show you a few ways you can get VR experiences on your campus now.

Join Chapman University Director of Web and Interactive Marketing, David May, and the Chapman students behind Chapman’s virtual reality efforts.
